SKF super precision bearings for driven tools
Minimizing friction has been our cause for more than a century. Now the time has come to present the first SKF super-precision contact ball bearings for driven tools. Carefully constructed using all our experience, to meet your every demand on precision, performance and productivity. A reliable choice for a smooth, quiet and environmentally friendly operation.
High precision operations come with a number of challenges. The space in which the machining occurs is often limited, with short cycle times and use of high machining forces. In addition, contaminants, noise and vibration levels increase the stress put on machinery as well as operators. These conditions require specially designed bearings, contributing to reliable performance and increased uptime. SKF superprecision angular contact ball bearings for driven tools are designed to ensure a smooth operation. They are characterized by:
• High axial and radial load carrying capacity
• High degree of stiffness
• Low noise and vibration levels
This series of super-precision bearings has an optimized internal geometry for driven tool applications. The design of the symmetrical inner ring and the asymmetrical outer ring enables the bearings to accommodate radial loads, and axial loads in one direction. These bearings contain the maximum number and size of balls to better meet driven tools application requirements. Their close osculation provides a high degree of stiffness and the highest possible load carrying capacity.
The contact angle of 25° meets the requirements of driven tool applications without limiting the speed capability. The compact, high power density design has improved load sharing across the bearings, resulting in high system rigidity. To reduce noise and vibration levels to a minimum, the bearings are fitted with an optimized and silent running glassfibre reinforced polyamide cage. The higher rotational stability and low level of heat generation results in an extremely quiet operation.
SKF super-precision angular contact ball bearings for driven tools are available as both open and sealed variants. The sealed bearings are equipped with an optimized non-contact seal on both sides and filled with premium grease. They do not require relubrication. In addition, the sealed design provides a number of advantages including stopping dirt particles from penetrating the bearing, decreasing risk of lubricant contamination and extending maintenance intervals.
The improvements that come with SKF super-precision bearings for driven tools all contribute to extend the bearing service life, increase uptime and lower the total cost of ownership. A reliable choice for a smooth, quiet and environmentally friendly operation.
